Travel details and links
Wengen is within easy reach of both Zurich and Geneva, both about 3 hours by train.

Getting to Switzerland is easy - by air, train or road.
BY ROAD it is about ten hours drive from Calais - there are a number of routes and it is a good way to see the scenery. You will have to park the car in Lauterbrunnen before taking the rack railway up the mountain to Wengen.
BY AIR, about 8 hours total, is from most UK airports to Zurich or Geneva, then by train. However from London it is possible to get to the apartment in only 4 hours with the right connections. There are direct flights from Birmingham and Southampton Airports to Bern which is closer than Zurich or Geneva. If you choose to fly with Swiss, they will make sure that your skis and boots are delivered to Wengen Station so you don't have to carry them on the train.
BY RAIL Eurostar allows the trip to be done by rail in a day - it takes about 3 hours more than the plane but you see all the scenery. Travel is best by Eurostar to Paris, then by TGV to Geneva and then international express to Bern then onto Wengen. Swiss trains run like clockwork - don't worry about connections they will be there ! You can have lunch in Paris or stop overnight if you want. Rail tickets can be booked direct to Wengen via Rail Europe.
In most cases baggage is handled by SBB (the Swiss State Railway) so all you need to carry is your hand luggage. Everything else will be waiting at the station for you.
